Apple peeler

What did I just read. I’m sitting here trying to scramble words for my review but all I can think of is that damn ending so koodoos to the author.
I would say this story is not for everyone, it’s a psychological horror story (like you keep replaying scenes in your mind).
If you’re looking for a story of two people who definitely should not be together (one is narcissistic and the other suffers from lack of love) then this is for you, throw in a form of BDSM relationship and a tapeworm….

Wish it was longer

Concept was very good! I just wished that the relationship between the two main characters was developed a bit further. I would also like to learn about the aftermath of the ending, an epilogue would have been great!

Lesbian tropes taken to a new level

If you're looking for a lot of exposition, character origin stories, or internal monologues, you won't find it here. This is a very raw, straightforward view of emotional manipulation and mental illness. If you've never been the target of love bombing or experienced a deeply destructive relationship, it might not make any sense; if you have experienced those things, you'll probably be able to fill in some of the blanks and understand what the characters are thinking but not saying. There are a few little anachronisms you'll probably pick up on if you were active online at the turn of the century, and the ending is pretty predictable, but if you're a queer horror fan looking for a bit of unsettling brain candy this is a good quick listen.

too shallow and short

while the plot itself was interesting, the execution fell short. there was not enough depth to the characters and their relationship to warrant how quickly things escalated, only to end on an abrupt and dry note. certain parts were intensely disturbing but only for the sake of being disturbing and didn't add to the storyline at all. Additionally, as this reads through a series of emails, through no fault of the narrator- it becomes irritating to hear the repetition of the email addresses and names throughout each chapter. this book's blessing and curse was that it was only 45 mins long.

for those not familiar with this genre of horror, I'll leave you with TW's of animal cruelty, child death, medical trauma and suicide.

Don't waste a credit on this!

The only good thing about this audiobook was it was just over 2 hours. The story itself was unbelievable (not in a good way) . Not worth your time.

Needlessly depressing, tediously narrated.

It feels like 50% of the word count is the same two names and email addresses over and over and over again.

edit: I had to come back and lower my rating even further. Fuck this "book".
