An advertisement has been placed (again!) by the wealthy and eccentric Parloni Sisters. The salary is generous and the employers are 90 years old, so how hard could the job be? Well, none have lasted longer than a week. Most boys leave in tears. Ruthie Midona will work in Providence’s front office, and be at the Parlonis' beck and call, forever. That’s sort of her life plan. If Ruthie can run the place in her almost-retired bosses’ absence, with no hijinks/hiccups, she has a shot at becoming the new manager.

A total riot that will want you to reach into the pages and ring a few necks!
I laughed more than I ever have at the incredible narration. The story line and character plots at time went on far to long but in the end it was all good. It might make for a cute sequel.

Another great book by Lisa Jewell
I'm generally a pretty big fan of Lisa Jewell's novels and this one definitely didn't disappoint. I enjoyed the story and thought that the characters were well written and that the story was heart warming. I would definitely recommend this book.

LOVED IT
The writing and narration were impeccable. The story and characters were fantastic. The only unsettling thing was seeing myself in one of the characters and knowing there’s no chance that my story will turn out like this one.

Fast Forwarded last 4 Hours. Predictable
Definitely not one of Lisa Jewell’s finer works. The book starts off with interesting character and plot development but peters out towards the middle of the book. The ending was so obvious that I couldn’t be bothered to listen to the last 4 hours and just skipped through to the blasé conclusion.

Lisa Jewell’s books have improved since this one was published in 2005
I have read and enjoyed mast of Lisa Jewell’s books but feel that this one is not up to her usual standard.
There isn’t much substance to the story and it’s as if it has been written for teenagers.
