Leading the charge is psychologist and neuroscientist Lisa Feldman Barrett, whose research overturns the long-standing belief that emotions are automatic, universal, and hardwired in different brain regions. Instead, Barrett shows, we construct each instance of emotion through a unique interplay of brain, body, and culture.

While for many, the move expands personal horizons, for others, the transition can be challenging, leaving them blindsided and overwhelmed. Beyond the initial transition to nonmonogamy, many struggle with the root issues beneath the symptoms of broken agreements, communication challenges, increased fighting and persistent jealousy.

Nonviolent Communication
Very helpful information. Will take time to implement into one’s everyday dialogue and actions. The narrator’s voice was difficult to hear clearly. With some background noise I had to put my volume to near highest in order to hear what the narrator (Marshall Rosenberg himself?) was saying.

Initial impressions: ugh new age hippy crap.
With 5 minutes: holy **** this has the ability to change my life and the relationships I have with every person I care about.
Intelligent, well thought out, feasible means of communicating with others that doesn't fall victim to so many natural tendencies we all have. I have recommended it to everyone I know, particularly the more enlightened. I would also recommend it to you.
