Before RuPaul's Drag Race became a worldwide phenomenon, Drag was mostly an underground art form, performed by the daring and the quick-witted, with maximum energy and a minimal budget. This is the story of one of the galaxy's greatest queens, Alaska Thunderf--k 5000, as she transforms from wearing dresses made of trash bags because she has to, to wearing dresses made of trash bags because she wants to.

When it comes to insult comics, Bianca Del Rio is in a class by herself. Fierce, funny, and fabulous - a would-be love child sired by John Waters and birthed by Joan Rivers - Bianca sandblasted her name in the annals of pop culture on RuPaul’s Drag Race. Thanks to her snarky frankness, impeccable comedic timing, and politically incorrect humor, she became the show’s breakout star, winning its sixth season. In Blame It on Bianca Del Rio, Bianca shares her opinions loudly and proudly, offering raucous, hilarious, no-holds-barred commentary on annoyances, big and small.

Story
The only lie told more often than "no, that looks totally cute on you" and "I got AIDS through oral" is "it gets better". Well, a lotta times it don't. Sometimes it just sucks less. But I promise you: Where there's a Willam, there's a way. But this isn't all about me (for once). It's about you and how you can suck less at a variety of things drag queens are so much better at than the average person.

Publisher's Summary
Boy, girl, artist, advocate. Courtney is more than the sum of her parts.
Meet Shane Jenek. Raised in the Brisbane suburbs by loving parents, Shane realises from a young age that he's not like all the other boys. At a performing arts agency he discovers his passion for song, dance and performance, and makes a promise to himself: to find a bigger stage.
Meet Courtney Act. Born in Sydney around the turn of the millennium, Courtney makes her name in the gay bars of Oxford Street and then on Australian Idol. Over ten years later, she makes star turns on RuPaul's Drag Race and Celebrity Big Brother UK, bringing her unique take on drag and gender to the world.
Behind this rise to national and global fame is a story of searching for and finding oneself. Most of all, it’s a bloody good time.
What the critics say
"Glorious, heartfelt, passionate and inspirational—a glamorous frock-filled adventure that explores the full fluidity of Shane's boundless bravery, love and humanity." (Osher Günsberg, one of Australia’s most recognisable media personalities)
"Funny, smart, kind and entirely addictive, this is a glorious insight into an exceptional life. A road map for anyone who feels different and wants to let that side of themself shine." (Matt Lucas)

What a great listen/read/experience.
Courtney/Shane’s ability to teach, grow, and share their learning and experiences is so unique and refreshing. Nothing felt forced or over the top, just real. Down to earth. Could listen to this again and again.

I couldn’t stop listening!
Absolutely beautiful book. Listening to Shane tell their story and weave into it the passion they have for the queer experience was such a privilege. I feel like I’ve had the conversation of a lifetime with a wonderful friend, and have come out of it with a heightened understanding of gender, queerness, and love. Thank you for writing this book, I feel as if my entire existence is being validated.
