Publisher's Summary

Nira. Astrum Industries’ newest charted planet. Freshly discovered. Wholly unexplored. But that won’t be the case for long. Led by Captain Alec Hamlin, a team of explorers make an emergency landing and are soon confronted by their first Niran native. A huge male Kríe packed with muscle and bearing small, black horns and fangs. Fortunately, he’s friendly. Or so he lets them believe.

With the help of his pack, the Kríe takes Alec’s team captive, intending to sell them for profit. But these Nirans aren’t just shrewd, they’re arrogant and domineering. And most of all, extremely sexual. Which explains why, on their journey to peddle their new wares, they feed Alec’s team a powerful aphrodisiac. Nothing like some decadent entertainment on the side. Soon the team finds themselves feverishly trying to resist the growing urge to get physical with their captors. But as passion prevails and unexpected bonds form, so much more is suddenly at stake. With no time left, will a shift in Kríe perspective be enough to change the fate of Alec’s team?

Warning: Contains mild dub/con elements and explicitly scorching gay sex with exotic and shamelessly kinky males of otherworldly descent.

Great World Building, Likable characters, HOT HOT

Stand up and make some noise for narrator Zane Daniels! He surely deserves a standing ovation, welcoming him into the fold. Just remember Zane, you can check-out any time you like, but you can never leave! This narrator is definitely not new to the sport. His well-oiled maneuvering between character voices created an exceptional listening experience. I listened to him at 1.4x. He conveys emotions so sweetly and narrates erotic m/m paranormal romance barefaced and with the quiet bravado and style of a ninja. The cadence of his voice is welcoming to my state of constant irritation. Listeners will be soothed and lured into the beautiful new world the author created. The world-building is stunning and I was able to visualize the color of the fauna and flora on the planet.

This book was way too short, as soon as it picked up speed, it was cut short. Tons of dialogue surrounding I am straight and what is happening to me, peppered with dubious consent (which I liked). Not sure how long the wait will be, but the story was definitely cut up and dished as a cliffhanger. I knew that going in, thanks to the other honest reviewers. I did expect it, but the plot was just getting interesting, and the characters were just developed and likable. Additionally, snuffing out an emotional connection to the characters so prematurely gives me the Heebie-jeebies. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. I got mad at myself for getting invested in the group’s cohesion, forming an emotional connection with the characters, but my investment was for nothing.

I will give the next book a try, but if it follows the same rhythm, I will not continue finishing the series.

Happy Listening
