Ryot Bisley is my husband. Yes, the former third baseman for the Chicago Rebels and absolute heartthrob of the Windy City. That Ryot Bisley. The first time I ran into him, he was grumpy, a horrific host, and left me on his sofa with nothing but a nylon baseball flag to use as a blanket.

Story
Hayes Flynn is an arrogant jerk known best for his scotch habit and the way he spreads his British “charm” all over Hollywood, never with the same woman twice. He’s the last person I want to work for - except he has a face I can’t look away from, and the longer we’re together, the harder he is to hate. Because under that smug exterior is a heart he doesn’t want to show - one that was badly broken a decade earlier. A part of me wants to fix it for him before I leave…but can I do it without breaking my own in the process?

Story
My mother's New Year's resolution for me was simple: make a serious effort at putting myself out there and dating again and do it for one full year. Or, until I fell in love. Whichever came first. How hard could one year of swipes and matches and awkward first dates be? In a word: bad. In nine words: bad and also hilarious, demoralizing, exhausting, and ridiculously amusing.

Story
Matthew Walsh doesn't have feelings, and he likes it that way. Between breathing life into his family's third generation Boston architecture shop, keeping the peace with his five siblings, and competing in triathlons, he doesn't have much time for feelings. At least that's the case until Lauren Halsted tumbles into his life.

Publisher's Summary
Eight weeks of forced proximity is a long time to hate someone you’re trying not to love.
Sebastian Stremmel doesn’t need another headache. He has enough of his own without Sara Shapiro, the noisy new reconstructive surgeon, stomping all around his surgical wing with her chippy, chirpy cheerfulness.
But Sebastian doesn’t usually get what he wants.
No one gets under his skin like Sara—so much so a heated “debate” and an exam room left in shambles later, they land themselves in eight weeks of hospital-mandated conflict resolution counseling. Now they’re forced to fight fair…which quickly leads them to playing dirty when no one’s looking.
They know it’s a mistake. They promise themselves it will never happen again. They swear they got it out of their systems. They didn’t.
Author’s Note: Grumpy/recovering people-pleaser sunshine. Introverts attract. Enemies-to-lovers in the workplace. Banter, bicker, and button-pushing foreplay. Don’t tell the friend group, get jealous when the friend group tries to fix her up.
Heat: Rip her clothes off before you get the front door open.
CW/TW: Chronic illness, absent/negligent parents, history of disordered eating.

loved it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A mature successful H and h with issues that make them interesting, vulnerable and so human. The author did a great job allowing for the reader to understand and care for these characters.... as well as empathize and relate to the things that makes each of us who we are in the world and how we walk through it. Not angsty or tiresome... just engaging. also... 🔥🔥🔥
Loved the naration... really perfect for this book.

Best part is Connor Crais narrating.
This one missed the mark for me. The arguing and clear dislike between the characters at the beginning didnt seem to diminish much to me. I didnt really feel many sparks or chemistry between the 2. Connor Crais narrating was the best part of it for me and I wish he had more chapters. The female narrater Ive only listened to in one other book and her male voice comes off as very angry all the time. It didnt match Connors tone of the character. Unfortunately, I think that is what ruined the chemistry between the characters for me. It didnt seem like Sara even liked Sebastian at all. Not my favorite book from Kate Canterbary. Ill go back to dark romance for now. 3.5 stars
