this book was a bit too focused on the tension between the characters. could have done with more world-building and more emotional development between the characters instead.

as for the narrator, I don't know for sure that I am correct, but she sounds like she's trying to imitate Abby Craden and while she does pretty well at it if that's her intent, I'd rather have a more unique experience. the imitation or appearance thereof constantly threw me out of the story.

This is the first I have read by this author. I was skeptical since fantasy isn’t my go-to genre, but I am a sapphic fiend so I gave it a try! It was absolutely spicy (next level spice friends) and the story line was captivating. This is also the first book I have listened to by this narrator and she was excellent, sexy as heck and perfectly timed. I would put her in a top 5 category, Hoping there will be a book two.
