Anna Michaels is a pen name for USA Today bestselling author Peggy Webb. The award-winning author from Mississippi writes in multiple genres and has sold millions of her books worldwide. Anna's debut novel, The Tender Mercy of Roses, was called "astonishing" by the late literary giant, Pat Conroy. Reviewers praise the "lyric beauty" of Anna's historical suspense novels, and she says she "hears the music of words." Anna is an accomplished musician who sings in her church choir and belts out gospel and blues on a baby grand that once belonged to a pianist from the Jazz Age. Occasionally she composes blues lyrics. She's a great lover of nature who designed the flower gardens that surround her Deep South writer's cottage. A bird feeder hangs outside her office window where she watches her feathered friends, particularly a male cardinal who is "almost tame." "He flies into the feeder the minute I open my office curtain and turn on the light," she says. "He's even been known to fly across my shoulder when I'm sitting on my wonderful Southern veranda having morning coffee." The author loves hearing from readers and chatting with them on her blog.
