Ariane Saltoris is a Brazilian-born Gothic fiction author, folklorist, and gothic scholar living in Berlin. Her work blends supernatural folklore, philosophical depth, and the atmospheric tension of 19th-century Gothic literature. She is the founder of Caipora Books, dedicated to dark folktales and Tropical Gothic, and Caipora Kids, which publishes bilingual fairy tales and activity books for Brazilian families abroad. When she isn’t writing, Ariane can be found exploring cemeteries, researching myths, or cooking and baking with her family in her Berlin home.
