Art Hobba, 59, brings a unique perspective to manhood. With five sons ranging in age from 13 to 34, he has cut his teeth on just about every kind of father-son experience, including dating, substances, “creative storytelling,” faith and attitude issues. Professionally Art founded Transcende (www.transcende.net), a corporate coaching and consulting firm and for twenty five years, he continues to help companies grow. Art’s passion, however, is in the transformation of men, where for two decades he served in both senior pastoral and men’s ministry leadership roles. Three years ago, he and Steve Abarta founded. Core 300 (www.core300.org) where he serves the Body of Christ by calling men to transform their churches and cities by stepping “out of the stands” of shame and mediocrity, and into the arena of their destiny. Incubated and proven in several churches representing a variety of denominational distinctives, the Core 300 team has developed a robust, 3-year discipleship movement that follows the biblical archetypes of The Warrior (1); The Priest (2); and The King (3). Each semester is 19-20 weeks in duration. His just released book, Called to War, is rapidly gaining popularity as “the best men’s book since Wild at Heart.” Art lives in Agoura Hills, California, with his wife Sharon, and enjoys writing, skiing, and everything about the sea; including spear fishing and diving. His five sons still visit often enough to enjoy regular “refrigerator rights."
