I was born and brought up in South Africa and it has been the inspiration for my writing! My first novel, The Housemaid's Daughter, is set in the Karoo region of South Africa and follows the life of a young black housemaid and her Irish immigrant employers as apartheid tightens its grip on the country. My second novel, The Girl from Simon's Bay, was published in January 2017. The story is set in Simon's Town, the former British naval base at the foot of the famous Cape of Good Hope. A local girl meets a naval officer during World War 2... And in my third novel, The Fire Portrait, due out mid 2021, an artist finds inspiration and challenge when she relocates to a small farming community. A fire changes her life forever and sets her on a path she could never have imagined.
