Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Carolita would not meet her parents until she moved to Brooklyn at the age of six. She was then raised as an only child, although she had seven siblings. With such an interesting beginning, not much of a surprise that Carolita got into the business of storytelling. Carolita’s first novel, The Cricket’s Serenade (Genesis Press), takes readers across race and class lines on the island of Jamaica when a young woman agrees to an arranged marriage to help gain votes for an ambitious politician. Her second novel, Revenge Of A Not-So-Pretty Girl (Random House/Delacorte Press), explores the unlikely friendship that forms after a fourteen-year-old girl mugs an elderly former actress. A graduate off Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communication, Carolita has worked as a script supervisor and production supervisor on television productions. She is also a small business owner and co-creator of the ZoopLoop stylus tether tablet accessory.
