Charlotte Bauer was born in the UK and moved to South Africa with her family as a teenager. She has worked variously as a profile writer, columnist and editor, and is a Nieman Fellow at Harvard University. She was inspired to write How to Get Over Being Young when she realised she wasn’t anymore. Setting out on a quest to explore the meaning of life after youth, she decided to record her experiences as honestly and unflinchingly as possible without embarrassing her children any more than she had to. She lives between Johannesburg and France.
