Chris Herring is a senior writer for ESPN and the New York Times bestselling author of Blood in the Garden: The Flagrant History of the 1990s New York Knicks. Prior to returning to ESPN, where he'd previously written from 2017 to 2021, Herring spent three years at Sports Illustrated and seven years at The Wall Street Journal, where he covered the Knicks as a beat writer. He lives in New York and teaches at Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism in Chicago when he has spare time.
