Chris W. Surprenant is a professor of ethics, strategy, and public policy at the University of New Orleans, where he directs UNO's Entrepreneurship and Policy Institute. Hi work focuses on current issues in ethics and public policy, including the connection between entrepreneurship and human well-being; the importance of free exchange to the proper functioning of a free society, both in academic institutions and the community as a whole; and the role of financial incentives in shaping institutions and influencing public policy. In 2012, he was recognized by Princeton Review as one of the "Best 300 Professors" in the United States, and, in 2014, by Questia (a division of Cengage Learning) as one of their "Most Valuable Professors," awarded to three professors in the United States who "have made lasting impressions on the education and lives of their students."
