Claudia Lage holds a graduate degree in drama, as well as graduate and master’s degrees in literature. She is the author of the book of short stories A pequena morte e outras naturezas (Little Deaths and Other Natural Occurrences) and of the novel Mundos de Eufrásia (In Eufrásia’s Worlds), which was shortlisted for the First Novel category of the 2010 São Paulo Prize for Literature. Her short stories have also won her Rio Arte’s Stanislaw Ponte Preta competition (1996) and Rádio França’s Guimarães Rosa competition (2001). Lage also writes for theater and television. Lado a Lado (Side by Side), a series she co-writes with John Ximenes Braga, received the 2013 International Emmy Award for best soap opera. Lage has taught creative writing classes in Rio de Janeiro since 2002, and her most recent book is a collection of articles entitled Labirinto da Palavra (Labyrinth of Words).
