Welcome! I’m thrilled to share my journey with you. As a proud New Orleans native and former dancer with Houston Ballet, I love writing fiction and nonfiction inspired by true events. Beyond my dance career, I’ve delved into screenwriting, achieving recognition in the top ten of action/adventure for the PAGE International Screenwriting Competition and optioning two scripts. Additionally, I’ve authored four fiction novels and created Garage Ballet®, a beloved series of nonfiction books that offers easy-to-understand explanations of ballet technique and training. The series is a collaborative mother-daughter effort with Dominique Crisler and Caroline Ruder, who assisted with my classes and danced through the college level at Northern Illinois University and the University of South Carolina. Life took an unexpected turn for me when, in the space of one Monday morning, Hurricane Katrina swept away my home and everything in it. During the chaotic aftermath, I was forced to relocate to Huntsville, AL., where I found a strange solace in the eerie Dead Children’s Playground, nestled between three towering cliff walls of an abandoned rock quarry and adjacent to Alabama’s largest cemetery. Reality often surpasses the bounds of fiction, and this real-life location stirred my imagination and ignited a passion for weaving urban legends and possible scenarios with the historically accurate threads of a region and time period. I hope you enjoy my stories, where everything can change in an instant. Be sure of it.
