Dennis Hunter was born in 1969 to American parents living in West Germany, grew up in Oklahoma, and as an adult lived in New York City for approximately 25 years. Formerly a Buddhist monk at Pema Chödrön's monastery, he teaches and writes on meditation and spirituality. His first book, "You Are Buddha: A Guide to Becoming What You Are," was described by readers as "a clear and practical guide to self-awareness, discovery and meditation" and "a must-read." His second book, "The Four Reminders: A Simple Buddhist Guide to Living and Dying Without Regret", hailed by Kirkus Reviews as "a smart, eminently readable Buddhist guide to achieving an inner awakening," puts ancient Tibetan Buddhist teachings in a fresh and contemporary new light, making them accessible to anyone. He lives in Miami and teaches frequent meditation classes, workshops and retreats.
