Diego A. von Vacano is a Professor of political science at Texas A&M University. He received his Ph.D. from Princeton University in 2003 and holds a Master's in Public Policy from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government and a BA from Wesleyan University. He was a Visiting Professor at Yale, a Member of the School of Social Science of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, NJ in 2008-2009 and a Fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford, CA in 2009-2010. He is the author of "The Color of Citizenship: Race, Modernity and Latin American Political Thought" (Oxford UP 2011) and "The Art of Power: Machiavelli, Nietzsche and the Making of Aesthetic Political Theory" (Lexington 2006). He has also authored articles in edited volumes and for the journals 'History of Political Thought' and 'Theoria.' He is originally from Bolivia and came to the US as a political refugee in his youth. He is working on a new book on Bolivia's lithium and green energy politics (2023).
