Well, howdy! I'm Fred Flynn - quiz master, former Jeopardy champion, and the guy you want on your team for pub trivia night. Born and raised in Nebraska, I somehow managed to acquire an encyclopedic knowledge of... well, pretty much everything.
As a young lad, my idea of fun was to memorize the Latin names of extinct dinosaurs and narrate the life cycle of a star to anyone who'd listen (I quickly learned pets are very patient listeners). I had a habit of turning every conversation into a mini trivia contest, much to the delight, confusion, or plain horror of my friends and family. Yes, I was THAT guy, and still am!
My journey of a thousand facts took me to unexpected places - from moonlighting as a professional yodeler in the Swiss Alps (surprisingly good for the lungs) to teaching tricks to a remarkably clever octopus named Bob (the third most intelligent octopus, I'll have you know).
Seeing that my career in yodeling and octopus-training was never going to pay the bills, I decided to put my trivia obsession to good use. I began to write and share my love for the weird and wonderful. And let's be honest, it's a much better use of my time than trying to convince everyone that the platypus is the most underrated animal.
When I'm not penning down fascinating facts or dazzling unsuspecting folks with the peculiarities of our world, you'll probably find me searching for those elusive glow-in-the-dark islands in the Maldives or timing the speed of the world's fastest ant. Just another typical day in the life of Fred Flyn.
