"I write stories about one man, Dr. Derk Bryan, the Indiana Jones of the EPA, and the bizarre situations in which he finds himself during his efforts to protect himself and others from the catastrophic effects of our changing climate. My books and my blogs (at www.EcoBuzzBooks.com) expose the connections between current issues and the crisis created by climate change. The stories are driven by a cast of maniacal culprits out to upset the balance of nature for their own self interests. They feature Dr. Derk Bryan, a college professor and intrepid EPA investigator, who will stop at nothing to pursue those out to despoil his own little slice of paradise on the beach. His first book, Pest, revolves around Bryan's pursuit of a fraudulent pesticide manufacturer and an ex-pro wrestler, turned body guard, with anger management issues. Dead Wrong requires Bryan, who describes his age as "resistently approaching Medicare eligibility," to solve an ecological crossword puzzle as the body count rises. As one reviewer said, "Myers will make you laugh and cry . . . and you can't stop reading." My book, A Letter to My Grandson, was a gift to his grandson on his 10th birthday, but it inspired the 1st Palm Beach County" short story contest: In Search of Integrity. Myers laughs when he says his grandson probably preferred a computer game." He is a graduate of the University of Michigan, Bowling Green State University and is Certified by the American College of Sports Medicine. He resides in Boynton Beach, FL where he is still in pursuit of par.
