Gita Jairaj, born in Andhra Pradesh, South India emigrated to England with her mother and siblings to join their father who had previously moved there to become a partner in their grandfathers’ GP practice. Her childhood was full of fun and laughter, and the children were always encouraged to be themselves and follow a stable profession. Although Gita had a passion for the creative arts, she studied Law. However, her professional career spanned over 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry, working with industry leaders such as Pfizer. Although Gita enjoyed a successful career, she continued pursuing her dreams utilizing any free time she had learning music and drama. Her music career was ignited when she signed a five-year music management contract, which introduced her to many influential musicians. Her unique sound was an innovative blend of East meets West. She signed to British artist management based in Los Angeles. The following years were spent writing music and pursuing her love of acting. Gita married an Italian antique and design dealer and her creative dreams were put on hold as she threw herself into married life and to help out in the business. Events transpired which led to the writing of ‘Be The Light.’ Gita is a London based property investor who continues her special interest endeavors in social justice issues and became involved in part time charity fundraising and is also a supporter of several charitable organizations.
