Gustavo Rodriguez (Lima, 1968) is a Peruvian writer and communicator. He has published the novels "La furia de Aquiles", "La risa de tu madre" (finalist of Herralde Award), “La semana tiene siete mujeres" (finalist of Planeta-Casa de America Award) and “Cocinero en su tinta”. He also has written “Trece mentiras cortas”, a short tales book. Rodríguez is a well-known columnist of El Comercio newspaper of Lima and collaborator of Etiqueta Negra magazine. He is also co-founder of the "Proyecto Recreo", an initiative to take reading into schools of Peru. As a communicator, his distinctions for creativity are numerous. His campaigns have mobilized his country in several opportunities. In 2006 the National Council of Education honored gave him with the Award of Journalism, in the Internet category. He has been honored by Indecopi for this creative contribution to his country and his campaigns have been showed as part of best advertising specials on European and North American TV. Ha publicado con Alfaguara las novelas "La furia de Aquiles" y "La risa de tu madre", que fue finalista del Premio Herralde de Novela en España. También el celebrado volumen de relatos "Trece mentiras cortas". Su novela más reciente, "La semana tiene siete mujeres", ha sido finalista del premio Planeta-Casamérica. Su libro "Traducciones Peruanas" es referencia obligada en distintas universidades del país. "Cocinero en su tinta" es su novela más reciente. Son innumerables las distinciones a la creatividad en publicidad que ha obtenido en su país y el extranjero. Comerciales suyos se han transmitido en programas de televisión europea como parte de la mejor publicidad del mundo. El Consejo Nacional de Educación le confirió en 2006 el Premio al Periodismo en la categoría Internet. Ha sido condecorado por el Indecopi por su aporte creativo al desarrollo del país. Es columnista del diario El Comercio de Lima y colaborador habitual de la revista Etiqueta Negra. Es el cofundador de Proyecto Recreo, una iniciativa para llevar la lectura a las escuelas de su país.
