J. Michael Iddins grew up between the outskirts of Nashville, Tennessee, and Fort Wayne, Indiana. He now lives in the Greater Indianapolis area with his wife and son, where he teaches high school Creative Writing. Iddins began writing in his early teens as a way to navigate the pressures of expectation and the search for authenticity. Over the years, his poetry, short fiction, and essays have appeared in a variety of publications and journals, each helping him refine the distinctive, offbeat narrative voice that defines his novels. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Literature and Creative Writing from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and a master’s degree in American Cultural Studies from Valparaiso University.
