I am an Irish writer of mainly historical fiction, currently living in Tuscany, with my Italian husband and my cat Iris. I also write under my own name, Katherine Mezzacappa, and as Kate Zarrelli. Core themes in my fiction are love and culture clash, and these come to the fore in my début historical novel, The Gypsy Bride, published in 2020. The sequel, The Gypsy's Daughter, was published in 2021 and Annie of Ainsworth's Mill, set in early 20c Ireland and Cleator Moor, Cumberland followed in 2022. My fourth Katie Hutton novel, The Maid of Lindall Hall, will be published in 2023. Also coming soon, under my own name, are The Virgin of Florence, with Fairlight Books, and The Ballad of Mary Kearney, with Addison & Highsmith.
