Shae (M. Ed) is a queer poet and writer. Daughter of a meth addict, her life was changed when she was placed in foster care. "How the Light Gets In" is her memoir of her harrowing childhood, published in 2018 by BCC Press. Her first poetry was included in 2019 in "Shades of Becoming". Her essays have been featured by the University of Illinois Press in 2020.
