I have dedicated a majority of my 25-year law enforcement career to focus on drug enforcement and leadership. I have been published more than 25 times in newspaper articles covering drug use and enforcement efforts prior to publishing A Narc’s Tale. I am certified in both state and federal court as an “expert witness” in an array of different topics related to drug and narcotics enforcement. I also have a master’s degree in criminal justice and have completed thousands of hours of specialized training in drug/narcotics enforcement and undercover tactics. I have been a paid instructor for a federal undercover school. I have also consulted and taught narcotics investigators how to work undercover around the world with a vast array of drug enforcement experience at the city, county, state, federal and international levels. I have consulted and/or trained up to the top levels of more than 30 national police forces for the U.S. Dept. of State and United Nations, as well as served in positions as high as U.S. Contingent Commander while working overseas for 6 years. As a Chief of Police, I took my town from #28 safest city in the state of South Carolina to #1 in less than 2 years by increasing drug arrests 287% and doing community policing. In my personal life, we adopted a fourth child that was born addicted to drugs. As you can see, I am a man that “walks the walk” in the drug enforcement world and I am very well respected by my colleagues in this arena. In the recent past, I shared one of my undercover narc stories, out of dozens found in the book, with a filmmaker. He thought it would make a great movie. After multiple consultations, I assisted with revisions on a subsequent movie script to ensure its accuracy. As a result, it won several film-festival awards, including Best Film, at an international film festival. Throughout my law enforcement career, I have received more than twenty-five (25) medals & commendations for my leadership, and/or leading dangerous and large-scale drug investigations/operations.
