Krystale E. Littlejohn is an award-winning assistant professor of sociology at the University of Oregon. Before moving to the U of O, she was a faculty member at her alma mater, Occidental College. She received her Ph.D. in sociology from Stanford University in 2013. Her writing and teaching focus on sex, inequality, and the social politics of reproduction. Her book, Just Get on the Pill: The Uneven Burden of Reproductive Politics, draws on a decade of research into the struggles that young people face as they navigate sex, birth control, and pregnancy with their partners. In the book, she shows that while the stories shared are alternately humorous and heartrending, the future is hopeful with reproductive justice as a guide. Krystale is a native of Boyle Heights in Los Angeles and she currently resides in Eugene, Oregon, where she enjoys cooking, coffee, and kicking around ideas for her next book.
