​Laura Wides-Muñoz ​is a Washington, D.C. based journalist and author. Previously she was the vice President for Special Projects & Editorial Strategy at Univision’s English-language Fusion Network, and served as a senior story editor for the network's TV and digital investigative teams. Laura was a staff writer at The Associated Press for more than a decade and has reported from Cuba and throughout Central America. Her work has been published in The Washington Post, The Guardian, The Miami Herald and the Los Angeles Times, among other outlets. She has won the Associated Press Managing Editors Award and multiple Society of Professional Journalists awards. Her first book, "The Making of a Dream: How a Group of Young Undocumented Immigrants Helped Change What it Means to be American" was a semifinalist for the 2018 PEN American John Kenneth Galbraith Literature Award for nonfiction and was named to Library Journal's best book list for 2018. Laura lives with her husband and two kids, and probably if they keep up their lobbying, a dog in the not too distant future.
