Lilace Mellin Guignard lives with her husband and two children in rural Pennsylvania, where she teaches creative writing, women’s studies, and outdoor recreation leadership at Mansfield University. Her poetry has appeared in the journals Calyx, poemmemoirstory, Louisiana Literature, Paterson Literary Review, Ecotone and Poetry magazine. Her chapbook, “Young at the Time of Letting Go” was published by Evening Street Press in 2016. Her creative nonfiction book When Everything Beyond the Walls Is Wild: Being a Woman Outdoors in America was published by Texas A&M University Press in 2019. She enjoys climbing and biking with her husband, eavesdropping on her children, and shaking things up in adult Sunday school. She speaks at universities and outdoor organizations.
