Maria is the Writing Center Director at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio, where her roles encompass teaching and administrative work. She teaches First-Year Writing, Business Communication, and an undergraduate tutor training course, and she also works with the Graduate Assistants in the English department as they prepare to teach their own First-Year Writing classes. Outside of John Carroll, Maria is also an experienced proofreader and copyeditor, and has assisted clients inside and outside academia in the fields of business, the social sciences, and the humanities. She has presented at numerous rhetoric and composition conferences, and has published chapters in edited collections that focus on writing centers, peer review, and First-Year Writing.
