Basically I like to read and talk about books! After doing a Master's Degree in literature I wrote about the classics for several years. For the last few years I have been writing a series of scripture commentaries based on a class I teach in Cardiff California. I think studying the scriptures doesn't have to be boring or grim. There is plenty of humor in the lives of the great figures of the Bible, and their trials and sorrows mean more if we see them as whole people, not just figures in stories. Some of my chapters include: Cain and Abel, What to Do When the Kids Want to Kill Eachother, Potiphar's Wife and Internet Porn, and Paul's Greatest Hits. Life is serious, and the scriptures apply to us because God's word is always relevant. Sometimes you just have to update the context! Join me for scripture study with a smile.
