Mr. Spano is both a writer and a filmmaker. He has over thirty years experience in film and television production, performing arts, arts management, and fundraising. His feature documentary Sicily: Land of Love and Strife premiered in Kansas City MO, April of 2018. His presently traveling around the U.S. and Canada promoting his film. Spano’s new book Sicily: Land of Love and Strife, A Filmmaker’s Journey has been recently published. In 2016, his novel entitled Midland Club was published by Thunderfoot Press. He is out and about promoting his new book and novel. Midland Club has received two awards and significant critical acclaim. In January 2018, he adapted Midland Club for the screen at an artist's residency in Seaside, Florida. He is presently putting together a development team for the film of Midland Club. He is a contributing editor for online magazine Times of Sicily. He is hoping to see his book Kidding the Moon published in 2019.
