Growing up in Alabama in the 1950s might have shaped Mary Lois’ outlook on hypocrisy, humor, love, aging, wonderment, and death. She has a unique approach to life itself, an approach which permeates everything she writes from the personal memoirs in ME THINKS, to the wistful romance of her novel THAT WAS TOMORROW, the touching short stories and vignettes in her collection TRAVELIN' LIGHT--and the nostalgic histories of Fairhope, Alabama, in THE FAIR HOPE OF HEAVEN and MEET ME AT THE BUTTERFLY TREE. Her writing reveals intriguing insights to a wide scope of experiences of a woman as the 20th century closed and the 21st began to dawn. Mary Lois has lived in New York City, Geneva, New Orleans, Atlanta, Hoboken, and Fairhope, Alabama. She currently is living in Kingston, New York.
