Maury Kelly Downs was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He enjoys all things aviation. He has experience working as a Certified Flight Instructor and he greatly enjoyed teaching people how to fly. He is an Airline Transport Pilot and thrilled to fly the “Queen of the skies” Boeing 747. He has worked to promote and enhance aviation training and safety standards in the airline industry. He has also had a rewarding previous career working as a health care provider. His responsibilities working as a Registered Respiratory Therapist included the management and treatment of respiratory diseases in patients of various ages. Much of his experience involved working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and Emergency Department in several acute care medical hospitals in California. Some of his duties also included the management of patients requiring life support on ventilators during hospital to hospital transport, by means of ground emergency medical transport vehicles and air ambulance aircraft. When he was a child, he enjoyed telling imaginary stories to his friends and family for their entertainment. He enjoys hearing the humorous cavorts and bold adventures of people’s travels. The Way You See Me Now is his debut novel.
