To senior police bosses I have committed a cardinal sin by writing about policing. McIver Papeleo is not my real name. Over a decade ago I left a good career to become a front-line police officer. I discarded a settled way of life and the benefit of an education, and discovered a world of exhausted folk inside a system of overwhelming stupidity and political correctness.
