Pamela Robertson Wojcik is the Andrew V. Tackes Professor of Film, Television, and Theatre, Chair of the Department of Film, Television, and Theatre at the University of Notre Dame. She is the past president of the Society for Cinema and Media Studies. Wojcik received her Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 1994 and her BA from Wellesley College in 1986. She taught at the University of Newcastle in Australia from 1994 to 1997. Wojcik is recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship and is writing a book, Unhomed: Mobility and Placelessness, that examines America’s ambivalent and shifting attitude toward placelessness through marginalized figures of precarious mobility, including tramps, hitchhikers, World War II servicemen, the homeless, and contemporary youth.
