R. (Robert) Byron Stockdale was born in 1958 in East Orange, New Jersey, and moved to the Midwest with his family while still in high school. Having found a strong connection to the area, he attended the University of Kansas and began his architectural career in St. Louis in 1980. His first novel, 'A Pane of Glass', was influenced by the tragic murder of a little girl that happened when his own children were very young. The story then coalesced around his years of experience working with law enforcement in justice and corrections design and was fueled by the seemingly constant news reports of other children victimized by adult predators. Robert is past-president of the Writer’s Hall of Fame of America and has contributed writings to The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, AIA Justice Facilities Review, Engineering News Record, Florida Architect Magazine and World Architecture Magazine. https://apaneofglass.blog/ rbyronstockdale@gmail.com
