Rachel has grown up and lived most of her life in the rural area of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Married to a millwright, Rachel has taught Humanities and freelance writes while running their hobby homestead. Four children and their extra curricular activities spread across four schools (middle school to college) keep the family busy. Rachel updates her blog (www.secondtimearoundhomestead.com) with anecdotal homesteading updates. Some of these are seasonal updates and some are educational, for those wanting to begin a similar lifestyle. She also writes and publishes a variety of book reviews to the blog. Rachel has self-published several books on Kindle about homesteading, food allergies, and freezer meals that actually worked for her family. You can also find her on Kindle Vella as a new author. December of 2021 she launched her first episode "Abi's Story" in the series, "Growing up as fairies'. She publishes these episodes about once a week, usually on Saturdays.
