Regina E.G. Schymiczek is art historian and author. She studied at the RUHR-University Bochum/Germany and at the New York University, New York/USA. Since 1999, she has been focusing on the development and interpretation of gargoyles. In 2003 she wrote her dissertation about the gargoyles of Cologne cathedral in Germany. Until now she has published several books and essays on this subject and regularly gives speeches on gargoyles. In May 2010, she published a bilingual (English/German) photo-book on the gargoyles of Milan/Italy: Mailands Monster/Milan's Monsters. Wasserspeier und Grotesken in Mailand / Gargoyles and Grotesques in Milan; Books on Demand 2010, ISBN: 9783839182567 Furthermore, she published several children's books and just finished a historical novel.
