Rosalind Metcalf (who prefers to be called Roz) is a Mississippi native moving to Wisconsin in her younger years. She has experienced both success and life stressors. Which ultimately inspired her to work particularly with the underserved population. She was fortunate to grow up surrounded by educated people and a lot of resources. However, it was not enough to save her from predators or from herself. While navigating through her own complexities, she began to do a writing exercise which later developed into her first book “Smoking Out The Shadows”. After the book was written she came to realize that the survival of her trials was much larger than her own life and for the first time, she completely understood her purpose. Roz is a devoted wife and mother with a serious love for animals and poetry. When asked where she enjoys going most, she responded, "by any body of water".
