S. M. Hardy is the dark alter ego of the fantasy author Sue Tingey and lives with her husband in Torquay, South Devon. Sue spent 28 years working for a major bank and, after taking voluntary redundancy in 2001, spent another fourteen years working as a practice manager for an arboricultural consultancy. Sue has now given up the day job to allegedly spend more time with her husband, though he has noticed an awful lot more writing going on. Sue admits writing is her obsession and and was thrilled when she was offered a three book deal in 2014 for her fantasy series. Her latest novels, The Dark Devon series, are published by Allison & Busby.
