Thank you for visiting my Author Page, where I'll try to give you a potted history of me! I live in London but don't consider myself a Londoner, as I was born in Dorset and have lived in several other counties around the UK - in the North, South and Midlands - before I finally migrated to the capital city in my twenties, after being offered my dream job in publishing. Having always been a bookworm, I loved every minute of working as an editor, and for 15 years I happily published other people's novels, while secretly dreaming of writing my own! After going freelance as an editor, I found a little more time to write, but as I wove my stories and conjured up characters, I became increasingly fascinated by what makes people tick. I decided to train as psychotherapist, and that remains one of the most enriching and rewarding experiences of my life - second only to meeting my husband and having our two children! I'm certain that qualifying as a psychotherapist honed my writing skills, by deepening my understanding of people's hopes, dreams, needs and fears, but it was becoming a parent that was truly transformational for me. I found that my emotions suddenly intensified, and my imagination constantly fizzed with story ideas. My debut novel THE CHOICE was powerfully inspired by my experience of being a mum when I asked myself: if the worst imaginable thing happened, and I could only save one of my children, which would I choose? Since then, I've continued to write dark-edged, suspenseful family dramas that I hope challenge readers to question their own choices, as well as taking them on an emotional journey.
