Shira Nayman is a writer and psychologist/consultant. She also teaches literature and fiction writing. The recipient of the "Cape Branch Award for an Emerging Woman Writer," she will be teaching at Barnard College, NYC, in the spring of 2011. She is also the recipient of three grants from The Australia Council for the Arts. Her second book, a novel, "The Listener," was published by Scribner in January, 2010. Born in South Africa, she grew up in Australia, has lived in Israel, Mexico and France, and currently lives in Brooklyn, NY. She has recently completed a third novel, "A Mind of Winter," and is currently completing a Young Adult novel, "River."
