I was born in Ipirá, Bahia, in the northeast of Brazil and grew up in Recife, Pernambuco, which is part of the same region. I am a copywriter and poet. As a copywriter, I have worked for major advertising agencies in Brazil and Portugal. As a poet, I have self-published collections of poetry since 1985. In 2007, I had a poem awarded at the International International Literature Festival Fliporto. Some of my poems have appeared in magazines and being mentioned on the Brazilian television. “Virtual”, my fifth book, brings together poems that use elements taken from the digital language to address universal themes, as well as my relationship with London, where I have lived between 2006 and 2023, when, I and my wife, moved to Whitstable, in Kent, south of England.
