Steven Cohan is Dean's Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Film and Screen Studies at Syracuse University. His academic interest focuses mainly on Classic Hollywood Cinema, on which he has published books, edited collections, and written many articles. His favorite genres are musicals and film noir though he also enjoys films about making movies. He still lives in Syracuse with his dog and his cat, neither of whom are very interested in film (though the dog likes to sleep in front of the TV while Steve watches a movie with the cat on his lap). He did have a dog once who liked to watch Singin' in the Rain. Go figure.
