Teresa Thornhill is a writer and recently retired barrister. Her new book, In Harm's Way: the Memoir of a Child Protection Lawyer is due out with HarperCollins non-fiction in March. Teresa worked in child protection for over thirty years, variously representing parents, children and local authorities and spending some years as an in-house local authority lawyer. Teresa's previous books mostly have a Middle Eastern focus. They include Sweet Tea with Cardamom: A Journey through Iraqi Kurdistan, Pandora/Harper Collins 1997; The Curtain Maker of Beirut: Conversations with the Lebanese, Berkshire Academic Press 2010; and Hara Hotel: A Tale of Syrian Refugees in Greece, Verso, 2018.
