Theresa Abell Haynes is a journalist who writes inspiring novels based on true stories. She loves introducing readers to real people, past and present, who navigated their own complicated worlds and found hope. Her family heritage traces back to Blessed Thomas Abell—a Tudor priest, Oxford scholar, and confessor to Queen Katherine of Aragon—who defied King Henry VIII during the English Reformation and was martyred for his convictions. His story, passed down through generations, became the inspiration for her debut novel, The Queen’s Priest. Theresa holds a master’s degree in the Religious Roots of Europe and a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She writes for Christian news publications and shares reflections on faith, history, and life on her Substack. She lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband, their cat, and a brood of chickens.
