Theresa M. Odom-Surgick was born in Albany, NY in a Christian home to Benjamin Odom and Delila Melrose Jacobs. She is an accomplished writer and has written several plays, which include "The Gift", "Murder at the Reunion", "Baal's Revenge", the dramatic presentation of "Born to Die" and has also written several skits entitled the "Conference Room" that were used for altar call presentations at her former church. Her first published book is a non-fiction titled "My Life Tested: Earthly vs. Spiritual Things" - second edition. Her fiction novels are, "Jalena Dances with God", "Intrusion" and "Vengeance". A handbook for the creative arts performer titled, "A Chronicle for Pure Praise and Worship" is also available for those who minister in the Christian arts (dance, mime, singing, drama, etc.) On June 11, 2016, she was installed as pastor of the Star of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Albany, New York and ordained in ministry by the Hudson River Frontier Missionary Baptist Association.
