I was born and raised in a small coal mining town in the intermountain west. Instead of working with the mining industry, I grew up working in the family funeral home. It left me blessed, or cursed, with a somewhat off color sense of humor that didn’t get any better when I took up a career in medicine. Some of that humor shows up in my writing though I try to only dole it out in small doses. I have been blessed to live in some amazing places including 2 years in Argentina where I got fat on the food and was robbed on a regular basis. Outside of the Capitol Reef National Monument in Utah, my favorite place in the whole wide world would have to be Scotland. Currently I live and practice in the rural Midwestern United States with my wife, 5 kids, 3 cats, and 3 hives of bees that I call my Honey Cows for tax purposes.
